Well, who hasn't heard about Dame Agatha Christie yet? She's an awesome writer with a fascinating history and it'll take me a good couple more years to be able to say I've finished all her books... With the exeption for the Tommy & Tuppence Beresford books for me, as I don't like them too much.
When?
The challenge will start January 1, 2009 and end December 31, 2009.
How?
The goal is to read 2+ books by or about Dame Agatha in 2009, that's it. It's fairly easy, I think.
To sign up, please leave a comment here with a link to your blog post.
My tentative list contains:
1) Agatha Christie: Murder On The Links
2) Agatha Christie: They Do It With Mirrors
The participants are:
1) Kathrin
2) Sue Fitz
3) Judy (Intergalactic Bookworm)
4) Jenny
5) Lynda
6) krin
7) Stina
8) Margot
9) anjikan
10) Hermie's Mom
11) Scribacchina
If you're up for more Agatha Christie challenges, check out Kerrie's blog or Jeff's blog. They're not official challenges, but both are trying to read all the works of Agatha Christie in publication order.
Also, I'm still trying to find out whether Joy from Thoughts of Joy will do another Anything Agatha challenge in 2009.

I'd love to join this one also
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that you were going to offer this one in 2009! She is one of my favorite mystery authors.

@ Sue: Always! I'm glad to have people join me, but I'd even read hose books if I'd read them on my own... It's about books and fun, I believe!
ReplyDelete@ Judy: I don't think I'm the one you mean. I didn't host an Agatha Challenge before - but the other Agatha challenge I found last year was a bit difficult for me to do. Joy at Thoughts of Joy hosted the Anything Agatha challenge in 2008, but her regulations were impossible for me to meet.
As much as I love Dame Agatha's books, I can't read 10 of her books along with everything else. Maybe after university ;)
This is another author I want to read and this one sounds very doable thanks. I will for sure be able to do this in the year and hopefully a nice + over the 2. Jenny

Welcome to the challenge, everyone! :)

ReplyDeleteI am running a monthly Carnival for my Agatha Christie Reading Challenge at http://acrccarnival.blogspot.com/ if you would like to think about posting links to reviews there.
I'm already blogging at http://strixaluco.vox.com/library/post/a-perpetual-challenge-the-acrc.html for the perpetual publication order challenge, so I might as well do this one. At least that way I know I'll make it through two more Christies this year!
ReplyDelete@ Stina & Margot: Glad you're in :) I've already added your names to the list.
ReplyDelete@ Kerrie: Sure I'd love to post links to my reviews to your monthly carnival for Dame Agatha! And I'll try to check regularly, to see what others think about the books they read. Without AC it would have taken me longer than the 9 years of my life to get into mysteries ;)
I don't have a blog (I'm new here!) but I would love to join this challenge. I have several of her books on the shelf that I haven't cracked yet! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnjikan
@ anjikan: Welcome! You don't need to have a blog, just post a comment about the books you read, that's okay :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're in, Hermie's Mom!
ReplyDeleteI know it's February n all, but can I still sign up?
ReplyDeleteHello! I know it's late, but I'd like to join the challenge too... My post is here:
