an idea for a challenge - won't start too soon, though!

Well, I've been thinking about all those series I've started, but not finished at various points in my life. Be it series with the same characters, the same topic, by the same author... There are just so many of which I read maybe the first few books and then left off because of other series I wanted to give a try. And by no means did I "leave" those series because I didn't like what I read!

I doubt I'm the only one, so I thought it would be a fun challenge. I'll have to come up with a time frame, most likely one that is longer than the "average 4-5 months"... And I won't give a maximum or minimum number of books - for a certain reason ;-)

I have a list with a lot, but certainly not all the series I started - and I have 56 series on that list.

What I have not yet come up with is a proper name and a time frame. I'm just not sure how many months I'd like to "put up" for this. So, I'm open to suggestions! If you have an idea or a thought for a name or time frame, leave a comment!

  1. Ooh, I like this idea! I'm an avid series reader and usually have several going. In fact one of my medical mysteries is part of a series. I probably couldn't do this until later in the year or next. But count me in!

  2. I'm sort of the opposite. I have a ton of series I would like to start, but I only like to have a few going at once. Right now I'm working on Grafton's Alphabet series and Kinsella's Shopaholic series. I also read the new releases in Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next and HP. But there are SO MANY more out there that I will someday get to. :)

  3. Twiga, don't worry this challenge won't start before December. I think 6 challenges at a time are enough for me ;-)

  4. nyssaneala, I don't think I'd be me if I had only a few series going - but about 60? That's too much!

  5. I love this idea. I also agree that I would like it to be longer than 4-5 months....was thinking of a year but could that be too long?
Count me in whenever you get this one figured out.

  7. I'm interested. I have several series going that I would like to read more, but other challenges are keeping me from it. If there was a challenge that actually allowed me to read them, I'd be thrilled to death to join up.

  8. Great idea!

There are way too many challenges I want to complete this year, but as this will mostly take place in 2008, I'm in!

  10. The complete link to the list of The printed Page's books is:
    http://printedpage.blogspot.com/2007/11/complete-series.html

(Please add the link to your list, not your blog, to make it easier for those who check your blog later on. It can take ages to check out all posts until you've reached the one you actually wanted to read - and even longer if you have a slower internet connection (luckily, I have DSL!)... Thanks!)
